The Best Summer Workouts To Rock The Season

 

Summer is nearly here and that means that there’s a huge push to get a little leaner, live a little cleaner and grab some rays while we can in the Pacific Northwest.

Bethany Village is right across the street from the West Side’s premiere athletic club, Bethany Athletic Club and together, we’ve pulled together some of the best workouts that take 15 minutes or less because we know you’re busy being outside!

 

These exercises will target all those areas that are a core focus during the summer season: from legs to rear and from core to abs.

The Best Core Workouts For Your Stomach

Strength & Conditioning Stomach Workout

Squat down, sticking your booty back and pick up an 8kg kettlebell in your right hand. Pass it behind your right leg and reach your left hand behind to

 catch it. Then bring it around the outside of your left leg and pull the weight up in front of your chest.Hold for a count of 3 and then repeat the movement to the right while keeping your back straight and core tight. Aim for two sets of eight reps.

 

 

 

 

 

Target Your Legs And Bum

Step Up With Leg Lift

Place your right foot on a step and your hands on your hips and then push up so that your right leg is straight and you’re standing on the step. Squeeze your cheeks to raise your left leg as far behind you as you can without arching your back. Lower it and step down. Repeat on the left leg and alternate until you’ve done thirty 

reps total.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Target Your Arms And Back

Take a pushup position with hands on dumbbells (use the weight you’re comfortable with) and your feet slightly more than hip-width apart. Brace your abs, pull dumbbell to the side of your rib cage. Pause for a count of three, lower weight, and repeat with the other arm.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Get That Core Workout!

 

plank exerciseLie face down on the floor, propping yourself up on your forearms and toes. Make sure that your body forms a straight line. Then contract your abs and glutes as tightly as you can and hold for sixty seconds. Don’t forget to breathe!
